MTBO Event Cancelled
|
It is with much regret that I am having to cancel the mtbo event at Usk forest. There are a number of small factors which all add up to the area not being suitable for a successful mtbo event - overgrown paths (bracken, brambles), forestry work/access, fallen trees. All these have occured since my initial mapping and my visit this weekend to check courses. I have planned a number of these events this year and they have been really enjoyed by all the competitors -unfortunately most people would be very disappointed with the standard of riding/navigation and I think it is better to disappoint people now, than to take their money and disappoint them more later.
The timescale and entry numbers mean it is not possible to find/map and plan at another venue.
Obvioulsy I will be writing to all competitors explaining and returning their entry fees.
I'm sorry if this reduces the experience for people at Croeso though the number of entries would suggest that most people want to have a rest on the rest day!
I have very much appreciated the support that the Croeso organisation has given to the concept of an mtbo event.
For anyone keen to still go for a ride on that day there will be booklets available from Enquiries at Croseo showing rides in the Brecon Beacon area.
