Wharncliffe in the Warmth
|
I hope you enjoyed Wharncliffe in the warmth. The riding was probably at its best and had dried out considerably in the run up to the event. Well done to all the class winners with a special mention to Steve Heading for a great time which was a little faster than I expected. Trevor Mayne also posted a fantastic time over the same course only 4 mins slower to win the men 40+ class. Whilst the time may have been shorter than previous events it wasn't a walk in the park as Wharncliffe is quite a tough area. Trying to keep the climb to a minimum made planning interesting courses challenging. Most people seemed to really enjoy the ride even if they were a little out of breath at the finish!
We have a few items of lost property: helmet and gloves clear glasses The next event at Sherwood will offer great fast flat riding and more challenging navigation. There should be plenty of single track to look forward to. See you there Dave Peel
