MTBO Series 2004 - Overall Scores

Steve heading leads the Men's Open scores after 3 events - using all 3 events to count. With a score of 147 Steve has a good lead over Killian Lomas (129) and Andy Simpson (128). This will make him hard to beat even when only the best 3 scores out of the 5 events count towards the final scores.
In the Men's 40+ class there is still a chance to top Nick Jones who has 121 points just 7 points ahead of Rob McPherson (114 points) and 3rd is Dan Parker with 90 points from just 2 events.
The Women's Open and the Mens 50+ classes both have clear leaders with Charlotte Somers-Cocks and Dave Rose both having a maximum 150 points in the first 3 events. Charlotte is followed by Karen Parker (94) and Julie Phelan (90) who both only have 2 scores. In the men 50+ Mike Browell (135) has a clear 2nd place at the moment with Dennis Mews having 83 points after 2 races.
Scores are awarded by position with the leader given 50 points, 2nd place 47pts then 45, 43, 41, 40, 39 and on downwards with a maximum of 45 riders on each course scoring points. The best 3 scores out of 5 events then count towards the overall positions for the series.
