From
a PG plot to survey notes to a finished map
This page provides an overview
of the specialist services Peel Land Surveys can provide. You
can find examples of maps we've produced on the samples
page. We are also able to carry out a range of other mapping
and design-related jobs. Please contact
us to discuss your requirements.
Photogrammetric
plots
Photogrammetric
(P.G.) Plots are produced from aerial photography and provide
an accurate and detailed base from which to produce the final
map. We are able to supply P.G. plots for your own surveys or
as a base for us to work from.

Surveying
We specialise
in surveying for orienteering maps - forests, fells, moorland,
parks and school grounds. We can use an existing orienteering
map, an Ordnance Survey map or a P.G. plot as a base map. We
have produced maps for many major events, including the Jan
Kjellstrom International Festival and the British Championships.

Cartography
Peel Land Surveys
can draw a map to meet your requirements. Although we specialise
in drawing orienteering maps - winning the British Orienteering
Federation Silva Trophy for best professional map in 1997, 1998,
2000 and 2001 - we have also drawn parish council footpath maps,
mountain bike route maps, company location maps and more. Go
to the samples page to see some of the range of maps we have
drawn. We use the specialist OCAD (Orienteering Computer Aided
Design) software to draw your map.

Printing
We can arrange
printing of your maps, whether we have drawn them or not, using
either high-quality digital printing or colour offset printing
for the highest quality, using a printing company experienced
in printing orienteering maps. If printing maps not drawn by
us we will also check for cartographic and other errors that
may affect the appearance of the final product.
